Omri Boehm: "What do we owe one another?"

a_void is a new conversation series by the Robert Bosch Academy. It begins where many public debates fall silent: with the questions that go unasked. The series focuses on the elephants in the room, the blind spots, and the void that takes shape when certain conflicts, fears, or taboos are left unspoken. Instead of moving too quickly toward ready-made answers, a_void asks which questions are missing from our debates – and what it costs us to keep avoiding them.

To launch the series, we invite you to an evening with Omri Boehm – one of the most incisive philosophical voices in contemporary debates on democracy and moral responsibility. Boehm makes one of the most compelling cases for universal commitments, human rights, and international law at a time when appeals to power, identity, and national interest are gaining the upper hand.

What do we owe one another, no matter where they live, who they are, or their politics? In our age of deep polarization, how can we know what is right? Are universal principles worth defending? And if so, how?

Join us for the opening evening of a_void at Heimathafen Neukölln on 2 December, a new series that works towards a just future by confronting the questions we avoid.
