About
The founding idea of the EU “united in diversity” is under pressure. The results of the European Parliament elections in May will reflect the potential of the EU states to cooperate in the future, as well as indicate the extent to which the idea of a unified Europe is (still) relevant.
The condition of the EU will also impact its foreign policies and its relations with non-European actors. At this event, we will look at the EU from the perspective of countries beyond its borders and discuss the EU’s prospects with experts from China, the Middle East, Russia, and the U.S.. The following questions will be addressed: What do non-European actors expect from European foreign policy? Which allies are reliable and should new ones be considered? What role can the EU play in foreign affairs today? Could non-governmental actors gain in importance?
